BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State women's tennis team went 1-1 on Friday at the BOAS Indoor Tennis Center, earning a 6-1 victory over Montana State after falling 4-3 to BYU.

In the opener against BYU, the Broncos dropped the doubles point but responded quickly in singles. Paula Schaefer earned a win at No. 5, and Masa Viriant followed with a victory at No. 3 to give Boise State an early 2-1 lead. BYU answered with two singles wins, while Allison Isaacs claimed a victory at No. 4 to even the match at 3-3.

The dual came down to court two, where Tereza Polakova battled Kendall Kovick in a three-set match but fell 6-4, 5-7, 6-4.

In the second match of the day, Boise State found early momentum against Montana State by securing the doubles point. Polakova and Zdena Safarova earned a 6-3 win on court one, while Schaefer and Viriant won 6-4 on court three.
