Boise State Takes Win Over Air Force

USAFA, Colo. – Boise State women's basketball defeated Air Force 70-59, Wednesday night.
 
Mya Hansen and Natalie Pasco, who combined for nine 3-pointers, led the Broncos' (11-5, 2-3 Mountain West) effort.
 
Tatum Thompson opened the scoring and sparked a 7-0 run for the Broncos, highlighted by a 3-pointer from Pasco and a layup by Dani Bayes. Air Force (7-8, 1-4) didn't score its first field goal until Jordyn Devaughn connected on a pull-up jumper with 6:32 remaining in the first quarter.
 
After Keelie O'Hollaren answered with a 3-pointer for the Falcons, Hansen responded with one of her own just 11 seconds later. Boise State went scoreless over the final 4:54 of the quarter as Air Force closed on a 6-0 run, but the Broncos maintained a 17-15 lead at the end of one.
 
The second quarter opened slowly for Boise State, which didn't score until three and a half minutes in. Pasco snapped the drought with a triple from beyond the arc. After another four-minute scoring drought, freshman Mason Borcherding broke through with a layup in the paint, igniting a 10-0 run to close the half.
 
Boise State entered halftime leading 31-23, holding the Falcons to just eight points in the quarter.
 
Pasco led the Broncos at the break with nine points, all from 3-point range, while Bayes added seven points and two steals. For Air Force, Milahnie Perry paced the Falcons with 10 points, and Devaughn with seven.
 
Jayda McNabb opened the second half with a layup for Air Force, but Hansen quickly answered with a 3-pointer. Boise State followed with four-consecutive field goals made, including a layup and a 3-pointer from Pasco, a jumper from Libby Hutton and another layup by Bayes as part of an 8-0 run.
 
The Broncos held Air Force scoreless for more than three minutes and capped the quarter with an and-one 3-pointer from Hansen, taking a 55-39 lead into the final period.
 
O'Hollaren opened the fourth quarter with a 3-pointer for the Falcons, but Boise State responded with a layup from Pasco and triples from Hansen and Pasco to maintain control. O'Hollaren led Air Force in the fourth with six points, but the Broncos secured the 70-59 final victory.
