Broncos Triumph over Jayhawks

Boise, Idaho — Boise State Esports got their revenge on the Kansas Jayhawks, making up for an early season faulter against the squad from Lawrence, Kansas with a 3-0 sweep on Tuesday night at the Boise State Esports Arena.

From the opening map, it was a measured battle. Both teams leaned into defensive positioning, probing for small advantages rather than forcing risky engages. Johnathan Foraker (Clear) provided the early breakthrough, repeatedly diving the Kansas backline to disrupt their structure and create openings. That pressure allowed Mark Thanakomsirichot (Maksal) to capitalize on exposed targets and swing early fights in Boise State's favor.

As the series progressed, the Broncos adjusted their tempo. Buchanan Miller (Stryder) shifted into a more aggressive role on the second map, accelerating engagements and denying Kansas the space they needed to stabilize. With coordinated follow-ups and disciplined spacing, Boise State secured both opening maps and firmly controlled momentum.

Match two showcased a stylistic shift. Boise State layered its high-pressure approach onto a map not typically associated with aerial aggression, but the team's cohesion — especially from supports Carter Jones (Lyric) and Will Hess (Hex) — allowed them to dictate tempo from start to finish. Defensive holds were anchored by clean ultimate timing, including a critical Stryder ultimate that shut down Kansas's best push attempt.

By the final map, the Broncos were fully in sync. Coordinated dives removed Kansas's support line early in fights, isolating their tank and forcing staggered engagements. With well-timed ultimates from Maksal and Clear, Boise State controlled key checkpoints and closed the series decisively.

Head Coach Doc Haskell was pleased with what he saw from his team: "We knew we had to be ready for this Jayhawks squad. We had a great week of practice, and we ran out every groud ball to make sure we had every advantage."

The result solidifies the Broncos' push for second place heading into the final stretch of the regular season. With confidence building and structure sharpening, Boise State looks poised to make a strong statement before the Finals in Las Vegas.
