COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State track and field athletes Kaiya Robertson and Priscilla Adu-Gyamfi were named Mountain West Track Athlete and Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Â
Robertson and Adu-Gyamfi are the first Broncos duo since Dec. 13, 2022, to earn weekly indoor awards in the same week. Abby Stamper earned freshman honors, while Trent Missamore was named track athlete of the week on that date.
Â
Robertson earned her second weekly award of the season after another record-breaking performance in the mile. The senior broke her own Boise State and Mountain West record by more than five seconds (4:24.51), posting the sixth-fastest time in the nation this season and the eighth-fastest all conditions mark in NCAA history. Robertson's 4:24.51 is also the fourth-fastest mile in Canadian history.
Â
Adu-Gyamfi also claimed her second weekly award after earning freshman honors on Jan. 27. The Cypress, Texas, native ran 53.40 seconds in the 400 meters, breaking the previous school record of 54.49. Her time ranks fifth in the Mountain West this season and is the second-fastest among freshmen.
Â
Robertson and Adu-Gyamfi are the first female Broncos to earn multiple weekly indoor honors in the same season since Dafni Georgiou Jr. did so in 2021-22.
