Boise State Track & Field Receives USTFCCCA Academic Recognition

BOISE, Idaho - Thirteen members of the Boise State track & field team were selected as all-academic athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced earlier this week. Additionally, both the men's and women's teams earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team awards.Â
The Broncos' 13 honorees is the most since 2019 when they had 17 student-athletes selected.Â
Priscilla Adu-Gyamfi, Bianca Boehnke, Emily Jobes, Abby Kendrick, Amit Koma, Noelani Krauss, Victoria Lotz and Kaiya Robertson represented the women's team. Landon Helms, Patrick Kiprop, Brian Kiprotich, Tanner Nett and Alex Thompson were selected from the men's team.
The USTFCCCA highlights student-athletes for both athletic and academic performances. Academically, athletes must attain a 3.25 GPA or higher.Â
In addition, during the indoor season, athletes must finish in the top 48 of any championship relay event or in the top 96 in any championship individual event. For the outdoor season, athletes need to have either competed in any round of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships or finish in the top 48 in their respective region.
Boise State Women
Adu-Gyamfi qualified for the award during the indoor season, finishing 70th in the 400 meter sprint with a time of 53.14. The freshman maintained a 3.98 GPA while pursuing a degree in health studies.
Boehnke was an NCAA West First Rounds qualifier in the 5000-meter. The physics major held a 3.97 GPA.
Jobes, a graduate-student in the masters of kinesiology program, held a GPA of 3.89 and competed at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 3000-meter steeplechase. She recorded a time of 10:23.56 in 23rd place and earned honorable-mention all-america recognition.
Kendrick, also competed at the NCAA Outdoor Championships as another 3000-meter steeplechase runner. She finished with a time of 10:12.40 in 21st place and also garnered honorable-mention all-america honors. She sustained a 3.96 GPA in interdisciplinary professional studies.Â
Koma competed in the NCAA West First Rounds in the 10000-meter with a time of 34:11.69. She also sported a 3.72 GPA while pursuing her studies in kinesiology.Â
Krauss, a sprinter, represented the Broncos at the NCAA West First Rounds in the 800-meter. Krauss graduated with a degree in psychology and obtained a 4.0 GPA.
Lotz, an interdisciplinary professional studies major, held a 4.0 GPA. She represented the Broncos in the hammer throw at the NCAA West First Rounds, placing 41st.
Robertson, a health studies major that sported a 4.0 GPA and was an NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete Award winner at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. She competed in both indoor and outdoor championships this spring and was named a second-team All-American for indoor and an honorable-mention All-American for outdoor.Â
Boise State Men
Helms finished in 15th place at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in the heptathlon with a score of 4,179 and was named a second-team All-American. While pursuing a masters in business administration, Helms maintained a 3.98 GPA.
Kiprop concluded the indoor season regionally ranked 14th in the 500-meter and 19th in the 3000-meter. The kinesiology student garnered a 3.32 GPA in the classroom.
Kiprotich ran a 29:25.91 in the 10000-meter at the NCAA West First Rounds. Pursuing his academics in health studies, Kiprotich sported a 3.78 GPA.
Nett started his masters in engineering with a GPA of 3.45. In the outdoor season Nett qualified for and competed at the NCAA West First Rounds in the shot put.Â
Thompson obtained the recognition in his appearance at the NCAA West First Rounds in the 1500-meter with a time of 3:45.81. He also held a 3.76 GPA while studying economics.
