Broncos Notch Win No. 1600, Take Down Syracuse

BOISE, Idaho — Boise State secured a statement victory over Syracuse on senior night, earning a 3–1 win in PEC Overwatch 2 play and strengthening its position in the conference standings. The win marks a significant moment for Boise State: winn number 1600 as a program. 

The Broncos dropped the opening map on Control Samoa but responded with three straight wins on Esperança, Suravasa, and Push to close out the series. The night also served as a celebration for seniors Jenny Cummins, Jonathan Foraker, Carter Jones, and Mark Thannakomsirichot, who were honored after the match.

After falling 2–0 in the first map, Boise State regrouped on Esperança. Jonathan Foraker (Clear) delivered a steady presence throughout the push map, finishing with 35 eliminations and 13,495 damage while helping secure a 4–3 win. Clear's timing in late fights proved critical as the Broncos began to shift momentum, holding the Orange in overtime to no points in spectacular fashion.

Map 3 became the turning point of the night. Clear recorded 39 eliminations with only four deaths and 9,189 damage, repeatedly finding key picks to shut down Syracuse engagements. The Broncos took their first lead of the night, and continued their excellent form on push maps across the season.

The final map on Suravasa showcased Boise State's depth. Cannon Miller (Stryder) posted 29 eliminations on just two deaths, while Will Hess (Hex) contributed 21 eliminations and 18 assists. Mark Thannakomsirichot (Maksal) added 22 eliminations, and Carter Jones (Lyric) dished out 25 assists to stabilize extended fights. Cummins (DayDream) anchored the support line, helping maintain tempo during decisive team fights.

Clear's performance stood out across the series. He totaled 118 eliminations over the final three maps and delivered several clutch fight wins that prevented Syracuse from regaining control.

Boise State finished with a significant edge in eliminations and assists across the final three maps, capitalizing on defensive discipline and coordinated ult management to close out the match.

With the win, the Broncos continue their push toward the postseason as PEC play enters its final stretch.

Win No. 1600: Doc Haskell has led the Broncos to every win the program has ever had. overall, the program sits at an impressive 1600-704 all time, and has only experienced one sub-.500 season in their history. The 1600 wins leads all Division I FBS programs.

What's Next: A showdown with top-of-the-league Ohio State awaits the Broncos on Tuesday at 6 PM to close out the season.
