Shchennikova Wins Bars Title as Broncos Record Season-High

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State recorded a season-high 195.350 in its second home quad of the season, finishing third among San Jose State (195.475), Oregon State (195.450) and UC Davis (193.025). Sophomore Kristina Shchennikova captured the first bars title of her career, posting a 9.875 to earn a share of the crown.

Boise State opened with its best vault performance of the season, posting a team score of 48.850 despite having only five routines. Each member of the quintet scored 9.750 or higher, as freshman Isabella Delarosa led the team with a career-high 9.800. Freshman Miraya Nero (9.775) added a career-high and sophomore Bridget Kemp tallied a 9.775 for the fourth-straight meet.

The Broncos followed with another season-best rotation, scoring 48.975 on bars. Shchennikova paced Boise State with a season-high 9.875 to earn a share of the title. Senior Kylee Hamby matched her season-high of 9.850 while junior Carly Buell posted a season-best 9.800.

In the third rotation, Boise State scored 48.625 on vault, its second-best mark of the year. Nero led the Broncos for the third time this season, posting a 9.775. Senior Sydney Leitch backed her with a 9.750, tying her top score of the year.

The Broncos closed with a 48.900 on floor, with five of the six routines earning a 9.775 or higher. Sophomore Delaney Reeves had Boise State's top score, tallying a 9.800. Leitch added a season-best 9.775 while Kemp matched her season-high with another 9.775.
