RENO, Nev. – Boise State opened Mountain West play with a 6-2 victory at defending conference champion Nevada, Friday.

Quinn Southerland led off the game with a single, stole second, moved to third on a fly ball and scored on a single by Marissa Gonzalez for a 1-0 lead.

The Broncos broke the game open with a five-run second, all with two outs. With the bases loaded, Skylar Stroh delivered a two-run double and Gonzalez followed with a three-run home run for a 6-0 advantage.

In the bottom of the third, Julianne Rose (4-7) came on in relief with the bases loaded and two outs and stranded a Pack on the bases.
