Broncos Close Regular Season With Sunday Dual at Stanford

WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State closes the regular season with a road dual against No. 10 Stanford. The Broncos and Cardinal will face off at 3 p.m. MT on Sunday, March 15.

SCOUTING STANFORD: Stanford enters the weekend with an ACC-best 197.203 NQS, ranking seventh in the country. The Cardinal have the NCAA's fifth-highest NQS on bars (49.378) and seventh-best floor (49.428). Anna Roberts is tied for fourth in the country in all-around NQS (39.595), leading the team on bars (9.920), beam (9.925) and floor (9.925). She is one of seven gymnasts in the NCAA to score a perfect 10 on vault this season and is tied for the nation's top single-meet all-around score (39.875). Head coach Tabitha Yim is in her ninth season at the helm, leading Stanford to the ACC title in 2025.
 
SEASON-BEST SCORES: On March 1, Boise State swept a road quad at San Jose State, posting a season-high 196.275 while adding season-best scores on vault (49.150) and floor (49.275). Julia Krzywanski (vault) and Blake Pascal (floor) each scored a 9.900 on their respective routines to earn a share of the event title for the first time this year. It was Krzywanski's first-career win and Pascal's fifth. The Broncos equaled the team score in a March 13 win over Southern Utah, notching a season-best 49.150 on bars and rallying for the Senior Night win with a 49.275 on floor.
 
BROUGHT IT ON BARS: Boise State recorded a season-high 49.150 on bars on March 13, its fourth-straight meet tallying a season-best on the apparatus. Noelle Ball and Mahleea Werline earned the first event titles of their careers, both posting a career-best 9.900. Kristina Shchennikova added a 9.875, her fourth 9.800+ routine in the last five meets.
 
TRIPLE CROWN: Boise State had three beam champions on March 13, with Sydney Kho, Kristina Shchennikova and Sydnie Whipple splitting the crown with a 9.850. This marked the first-career title for Kho and Whipple, while Shchennikova picked up her first of the season and fourth overall. Kho has two overall titles this year and three in her career and Shchennikova has two crowns this season and five in her career.
 
CONFERENCE AWARD WINNERS: Blake Pascal earned Mountain West Co-Floor Specialist of the Week honors following her 9.900 routine and event crown at San Jose State. This is the first weekly conference award of the fifth year's career. Her 9.900 equaled her career-high and marked her 14th-career floor score of 9.850 or higher. After notching a career-best 9.875 on beam at California, Sydnie Whipple was named MW Co-Freshman of the Week, her first-career weekly accolade. The Broncos have six total awards this year.
 
BEAM QUEENS: Boise State recorded its top beam score of the season in the March 7 dual at Cal, tallying a 49.150. Sydney Whipple paced the Broncos with a career-best 9.875, followed by Sydney Kho, who posted a 9.850. Brantley Lucas added a career-high 9.825 while Isabella Delarosa and Kristina Shchennikova each added a 9.800. This was the Broncos' first meet with five 9.800+ beam scores since March 7, 2025.
 
FABULOUS ON FLOOR: Boise State had its best rotation of the year at San Jose State on March 1, posting a 49.275 on floor. Blake Pascal earned a share of the event title with a 9.900 and Anna Ferguson posted a career-high 9.875. On March 13, the Broncos tallied a 49.250 on floor, with Kristina Shchennikova (9.900), Delaney Reeves (9.875) and Miraya Nero (9.850) earning career-highs. Blake Pascal added a 9.850, her 15th-career floor routine of 9.850 or higher.
 
BIG SCORES ON VAULT: The Broncos secured their quad meet sweep with a season-best 49.150 on vault, their best score since Feb. 28, 2025. Julia Krzywanski captured her first event title with a career-high 9.900, while Noelle Ball added a career-best 9.850. Bridget Kemp matched her career-high with a 9.825 and Sydney Kho tallied a 9.800.
 
TRIO OF AWARDS: Following their 9.900 beam routines at the Feb. 15 Metroplex Challenge, Miraya Nero and Kristina Shchennikova were named Mountain West Co-Beam Specialists of the Week, with Nero adding MW Co-Freshman of the Week. Nero has three MW weekly awards this season, most on the team. This was Shchennikova's first weekly honor of the year and team-best ninth of her career, with four of those being MW Beam Specialist of the Week.
 
FANTASTIC FRESHMAN: Miraya Nero was also named Mountain West Co-Freshman of the Week after her Jan. 16 performance at BYU, where she won the all-around crown with a 39.075 and tied for second on beam with a 9.825. She was the vault runner-up at the Metroplex Challenge on Feb. 15, scoring 9.850, and equaled her career-high of 9.850 on floor on March 13. At Utah State, she captured her second all-around crown, becoming the first Boise State freshman to win two all-around titles since 2017 (Courtney McGregor). At San Jose State (March 1), she earned a career-high 9.800 on bars and notched the program's best all-around score (39.125) since 2021 (Hope Masiado).
 
KRISTINA KEEPS IT GOING: Kristina  Shchennikova won a share of the bars title in Boise State's Feb. 6 quad, recording a 9.875. It gave the sophomore her first-career win on the apparatus. She has five overall wins in her career, posting three on beam last season. She is the only gymnast on the Boise State roster with a title in multiple events in her career. In a March 7 dual at California, she tied for second on bars with a career-best 9.925, Boise State's top-scoring routine this year. On March 13, she earned a career-high 9.900 on floor while posting a 9.875 on bars and winning a share of the beam crown with a 9.850.
 
LOCAL LEGENDS: Freshmen and Meridian, Idaho natives Isabella Delarosa and Sydnie Whipple have made an early impact on their hometown team. Delarosa competed at home for the first time on Jan. 30, scoring 9.825 on beam to earn a share of the event title, the first of her career. The following week, she posted a career-high 9.800 on vault, Boise State's highest score in the Feb. 6 home quad. She was the team's top vaulter on March 13, scoring a career-best 9.825. Whipple earned a 9.800 on beam in her second-career routine at the Feb. 20 dual at Utah State, then followed with a team-high 9.875 on beam at California, capturing Mountain West Co-Freshman of the Week honors. This is the first time multiple Broncos have been named MW Freshman of the Week in the same season, with Miraya Nero winning twice. Whipple won her first event title with a 9.850 on beam in the March 13 win.
 
KHO-BOOM: Sydney Kho captured her first vault title of the year and second of her career at Air Force on Jan. 23, scoring a season-high 9.825. On March 13, she earned a share of the beam title with a 9.850, her fifth-straight routine of at least 9.800. The senior has appeared in Boise State's vault lineup in all but two meets in her career, completing 45 routines.
 
PACK THE X: Boise State set a single-meet attendance record in the Jan. 30 home opener, announcing a crowd of 2.986. The Broncos currently average an announced attendance of 2,653, which is on pace to shatter the current record of 2,196, set in 2025.
 
CHAMPIONSHIP STAGE: One season after winning the inaugural Mountain West Championships, Boise State won the 2025 MW regular season crown. The Broncos had the league's top NQS on bars (49.240), beam (49.080) and floor (49.105) last year. This season, the Broncos will host the Mountain West Championships in ExtraMile Arena. The championship meet is set for 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 21.
 
BIRD BACK WITH THE BRONCOS: Head coach Tina Bird is in her 19th season at the helm, serving as co-head coach from 2008-19 before becoming the lone head coach in 2020. From 1990-2007, she was an assistant coach for Boise State. Bird was a gymnast at Boise State from 1986-89, holding the school's floor record for four years. In her 36 years on staff, Boise State has produced 34 NCAA Regional appearances, 15 conference titles and 13 All-Americans. Bird has earned the conference coach of the year eight times, including the last two awards in the Mountain West.
