Boise State Wins Thriller at Wyoming

LARAMIE, Wyo. – In its final trip to Laramie as Mountain West foes, the Boise State women's tennis team delivered a 4-3 victory over Wyoming on Sunday.

After a loss at No. 2 doubles, Lorelyz Marruffo and Carla Grignac earned a 6-3 win on court three, leaving the deciding doubles point on court one. A back-and-forth battle between Tereza Polakova and Zdena Safarova and Wyoming's Serina Abriola and Madlena Orlova went to a tiebreaker. Tied 6-6, Polakova and Safarova won consecutive points to clinch a 7-6(6) victory and a 1-0 lead.

For the second consecutive match, Safarova earned a straight-set win at No. 1 singles, but Wyoming picked up wins on courts two and three to even the score at 2-2.

Allison Isaacs gave Boise State (10-2) a one-point advantage, defeating Wyoming's Orlova 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-2, before the Cowgirls (8-4) tied the match again with a win on court five.

The match-deciding point came on court six, where freshman Grignac faced Dilnaz Mashabayeva. Grignac delivered in a three-set thriller, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3, securing Boise State's ninth consecutive win and opening conference play 2-0.
