COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State junior Avery Tallakson has been named Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

Tallakson earned the honor after posting a 3-0 record in singles and a 3-1 mark in doubles across four matches last weekend. Partnering with Carson Baker, he defeated the No. 27 duo of Luca Bluett and John Kim from No. 38 Santa Clara, 6-1. In singles play, Tallakson also secured Boise State's lone point against No. 38 Santa Clara with a 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (0) victory over Alexander Eriksson.

This marks the first player of the week award of Tallakson's career and his third overall weekly conference honor. He is the first Bronco to receive the recognition since Carson Baker on March 5, 2025.

Boise State men's tennis will return to action with two matches at Appleton Tennis Center. The Broncos will first take on Nevada on March 20 at 5 p.m. MT then UC Irvine on March 22 at 1 p.m. MT.
