Loula-Rae McNamara Earns a Pair of Accolades

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State's Loula-Rae McNamara was named Mountain West Pitcher and Freshman of the Week, the conference announced, Monday.

McNamara was dominant in the circle over four appearances. She did not give up a hit or a run while logging three innings in both ends of a doubleheader at Sacramento State, March 17.

A native of Ladera Ranch, California, McNamara became the first Bronco in six years to save both games of a doubleheader.

A southpaw, McNamara picked up victories in relief against Mountain West opponent Fresno State, March 20 and 21.

In the series opener, she retired all five batters she faced, including three via strikeout. McNamara capped her week with 4 2/3 innings of relief with two runs, one earned, given up.

For the week, McNamara was 2-0 with two saves and a 0.57 ERA and 0.57 WHIP over 12 1/3 innings with eight strikeouts.
