BOISE, Idaho – Boise State men's golf has signed UCLA transfer Trevor Garus, head coach David Trainor announced on Friday.

Garus, an incoming junior and Boise native, played his first two collegiate seasons at UCLA in Southern California. He competed in 11 tournaments and logged 30 rounds of golf in his two years with the Bruins.

"Trevor is an extremely talented young man who has succeeded on every level," Trainor said. "His homecoming is a game changer for this program, and I will challenge Trevor and his teammates to build on his own success, and the progress and success of this program. Not only is Trevor an extremely talented player, but he is the type of young man that adds to the strong culture of this program. I can't begin to explain how excited I am to welcome him home."

Appearing in four team tournaments (1 fall, 3 spring) during the 2025-26 campaign, Garus shot par or better in five of his 12 rounds. He tied for 13th twice and notched a season-low 1-under-71 in two rounds.

As a true freshman in 2024-25, Garus logged 18 rounds and posted a 74.1 scoring average. In his second career tournament, he notched a 3-under-69, signifying the lowest single-round score of his collegiate career.

Prior to his time at UCLA, Trevor Garus won the 2023 Idaho State Amateur Championship and was named the 2023 Idaho Player of the Year by the Idaho Golf Association. Additionally, Garus placed second in the 2023 Junior America's Cup and qualified for the U.S. Amateur in back-to-back years (2023, '24).

Garus attended and graduated from Capital High School in Boise, where he won three-consecutive 5A District III titles. He became the first Idaho golfer to accomplish the feat in 21 years.
