Virgin-Morgan Named Athlon Sports Preseason All-America, 20 Broncos Land on Preseason All-Pac-12 Teams

BOISE, Idaho – Athlon Sports announced its Preseason All-America and All-Pac-12 teams, with Boise State redshirt senior Jayden Virgin-Morgan picking up fourth team All-America and first team All-Pac-12 honors. The EDGE is one of 20 Broncos to be named Preseason All-Pac-12, giving Boise State the most selections in the conference. Nine players were tabbed to the first team, also a league-high.
 
Virgin-Morgan has started every game for the Broncos in the last two seasons, compiling 28.5 tackles for loss and 16 sacks in 28 games. He is joined by running backs Sire Gaines and Dylan Riley, offensive lineman Roger Carreon, EDGE Max Stege, linebacker Boen Phelps, defensive back Jaden Mickey, kicker Colton Boomer and punter Oscar Doyle on the first team.
 
Six Broncos earned second team honors, including five on offense. Quarterback Maddux Madsen, wide receiver Ben Ford, tight end Matt Wagner and offensive linemen Daylon Metoyer and Jason Steele were recognized, as was defensive back Sherrod Smith.
 
Linebacker Jake Ripp and defensive back Derek Ganter Jr. headline the third team, while the fourth team features wide receivers Cameron Bates and Rasean Jones and defensive lineman David Latu.
