Three Broncos Recognized by Pac-12 on Preseason Impact List

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State volleyball's Melia Barlow, Sydney Dreves and Tehya Maeva were named to the Pac-12 Preseason Impact List, the conference announced Tuesday. 

Additionally, the Blue and Orange were picked to finish fourth in the Pac-12 preseason poll, voted on by the conference's head coaches. 

Barlow, a senior libero from Chandler, Ariz., transferred from Northern Arizona. As a junior, she tallied 133 assists, 26 aces and 430 digs. In her sophomore season, Barlow appeared in 24 matches and recorded 68 sets with 240 assists, 18 aces and 113 digs. Prior to college, Barlow recorded 371 digs, 33 assists and 45 blocks at Hamilton High School, where she led the state of Arizona in assists with 1,227 in 2021 and 1,299 in 2022. 

Dreves, a sophomore outside hitter from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, appeared in 110 of 119 sets as a true freshman. She ranked third on the team in kills (248) and fourth on the team in blocks (74). Additionally, she recorded 13 aces and 300.5 points. In her collegiate debut, she posted 14 kills, eight digs and three blocks on Aug. 29 against Navy. The sophomore tallied double-digit kills in 10 matches. 

Maeva, a senior setter from San Diego, Calif., transferred from Syracuse where she played in 30 matches, 29 as a starter. She led the team with 1,004 assists and posted 40 or more assists in eight matches. Maeva finished the season recording at least one kill in each of the final 14 matches. Prior to her career at Syracuse, the senior played at Nevada for two seasons where she led the Wolf Pack with 895 assists, recorded a team-high of 29 aces and ranked third on the team in digs (237). 

Boise State kicks off the season at the Bulldog Invitational Aug. 28-29 in Asheville, N.C. The Broncos will face Middle Tennessee at 10 a.m. MT on Aug. 28 to open the tournament before finishing the day against UNC Asheville at 4 p.m. MT. On Aug. 29, the Blue and Orange will conclude the tournament by taking on Middle Tennessee for the second time at 10 a.m. MT. 

The Broncos' home opener will be Sept. 3-5 at the Boise State Classic against North Dakota State, UNLV and Idaho State in ExtraMile Arena. Single-match and season tickets are available at BroncoSports.com/tickets.
