Broncos Bounce Back in Doubles Play on Day Two

BOISE, Idaho - After going 1-2 in doubles on day 1 of the Barb Chandler Classic, all three of the Broncos' doubles teams notched a win to sweep the field, 3-0, on Saturday.
Boise State also managed to win four of its five singles matches to finish day two with a 7-1 record. The team is 13-3 on the weekend, with one more day of matches to take place.Â
Stella Beldiman and Ella Piron got things started for the Blue and Orange with an 8-1 win over Paulina Aleksandrowicz and Tori Jeppson from Weber State. Carla Grignac and Valentina Vachkova weren't far behind with another 8-1 win over Weber State's Nataly Valdivia Rojas and Wencong Song. To clinch the third Bronco doubles win of the day, Tereza Polakova and Paula Schaefer defeated Weber State's Alicia Morales and Emma Roberts, 8-3.
In singles play, Boise State was 4-1. Beldiman, Piron and Polakova all won their respective matches, with Vachkova defeating Washington State's Gabriella Harper in a back and forth three-set match to end the day.
The final day of matches for the Barb Chandler Classic will begin tomorrow at 9 a.m. MT at Appleton Tennis Center.
