Boise State Set for San Diego State and Texas State at Home

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State volleyball is set to host San Diego State on Oct. 1 at noon and Texas State on Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. MT in Bronco Gym.

SCOUTING OUT THE OPPONENTS
The Aztecs are 6-6 overall and 1-1 in conference. This past week, San Diego State lost to Colorado State 1-3 in its first conference match on Sept. 24 but swept Fresno State 3-0 on Sept. 26. The Bobcats enter with a 6-7 overall record and a 1-1 conference record after sweeping Utah State 3-0 and getting swept by Colorado State 3-0.
BOISE STATE VERSUS THE FIELD
Boise State and San Diego State are tied at 13-13 for the overall series, but the Broncos lead the series at Boise 7-6. The last time the two teams met was on Nov. 1 2025, where the Blue and Orange defeated the Aztecs 3-1 in San Diego. This contest will mark the third time the Broncos and Bobcats have faced off and the first time they will meet in Boise. Texas State leads the overall series 2-0. Their most recent head-to-head matchup was on Sept. 9. 1988, where Texas State overcame Boise State 1-3 at a neutral site match.
LAST WEEK
The Broncos earned their first conference win in their Pac-12 opener against Gonzaga 3-1 in ExtraMile Arena on Sept. 24. Three Broncos tallied double-digit kills: Sydney Dreves (14), Reese Weinert (11) and Azlynn Tittmann (10). Two Broncos put up double-doubles: Dreves (14 kills, 22 digs) and Tittmann (10 kills, 15 digs). Additionally, the Blue and Orange racked up a season-high 14 blocks.
PAC-12 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kendall Hastings became the third Bronco to earn Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, earning the award on Sept. 29 after recording a career-high 10 blocks against Gonzaga. Hastings also became the first Bronco of the season to tally double-digits in blocks. Amelia Hansen became the second student-athlete in the program to earn Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 15) after tallying 19 blocks and 29 kills against No. 25 BYU, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's and Eastern Washington. Melia Barlow was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 1) after posting 52 digs and 16 assists during the Bulldog Invitational. The senior libero led the team in digs and service aces in all three contests to become the first Bronco to earn a Pac-12 weekly award. Boise State has tallied the most Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors in the conference.
LEADING THE PAC
Boise State leads the conference with 757 total digs, while Barlow leads the conference in digs with a total of 202. The Broncos have swept eight of their opponents this season, the most in the conference.
RECORD BREAKING ATTENDANCE
Boise State volleyball marked the highest attended volleyball match in the state of Idaho for the second time this season with 2,290 fans in ExtraMile Arena on Sept. 24 against Gonzaga. The first time the Broncos broke this record, there were 2,166 fans in attendance at ExtraMile Arena against BYU on Sept. 8.
NONCONFERENCE TOURNAMENT HONORS
Dreves earned Boise State Classic MVP after tallying 40 kills, eight blocks, five service aces and 22 digs. Barlow and Tittmann were named to the Boise State Classic All-Tournament Team. Hansen earned Boise State Invitational MVP after posting 17 blocks and 21 kills. Dreves, Tehya Maeva and Tittmann were named to the Boise State Invitational All-Tournament Team. Hastings and Tittmann were named to the Orange and Black Classic All-Tournament Team. Hastings posted 28 kills and 10 blocks during the tournament. She also posted a career high of 14 kills against Wyoming. Tittmann tallied 40 kills and recorded three-consecutive double-digit matches in kills during the tournament. She added a career-high 15 kills against Wyoming.
300 WINS
Head coach Shawn Garus earned his 300th career win at Boise State after a 3-0 win against North Dakota State. In his 25th year coaching collegiate volleyball, Garus holds a 427-334 career record and a 307-214 record at Boise State.
THE WINNING WAY
The Blue and Orange recorded a 20-11 record in 2025, setting their 10th winning season in the last 11 campaigns under Garus.
PAC-12 PRESEASON
Barlow, Dreves and Maeva have all been named to the Preseason Pac-12 Impact List. As voted on by the league's head coaches, Boise State was ranked number four on the 2026 Pac-12 predicted order of finish.
WHAT'S BACK
Boise State returns five Broncos from the 2025 season which includes Dreves (OH), Hastings (MB), Hallee Heath (MB), Giselle Paedon (OH) and Weinert (MB).
WHAT'S NEW
The Broncos added nine newcomers, including four transfers and five true freshmen. The transfers include Barlow (L, Northern Arizona), Athena Cox (MB, Cal Baptist), Hansen (OH, SMU), and Maeva (S, Syracuse). The freshmen include Reese Hone (L/DS, Idaho Falls, Idaho), Jenelle Legates (S, Los Altos, Calif.), Savannah Sheridan (OH, Temecula, Calif.), Sadie Snyder (OH, Goodyear, Ariz.) and Tittmann (OH, Corrales, N.M.).
