BOISE, Idaho – Boise State volleyball fell to No. 25 BYU in three sets on Tuesday night in ExtraMile Arena.

The Broncos (3-4) recorded 10 kills in the first set against the Cougars (4-1), including a team-high five from freshman Azlynn Tittmann. BYU jumped out to an early 15-9 lead and Boise State couldn't close the gap. The Cougars secured set one 25-12.

BYU kept the same momentum in set two, coming right out of the gate with the initial advantage, 11-7. Boise State scored 10 kills, attempting to chip away at the Cougar's lead, but couldn't overcome the deficit, eventually dropping 25-15.

The Blue and Orange racked up 14 kills and eight blocks in set three. The Cougars took an early advantage at 12-7, until Sydney Dreves, Amelia Hansen and Tittmann put pressure on the Cougars with an explosive offense to tie the set at 23-23. The two teams traded points, but BYU clinched the win 26-24.

Azlynn Tittmann led all attackers with a match-high 10 kills.
Kendall Hastings posted a team high in blocks for the seventh time this season with four.
Melia Barlow led the defense with 12 digs.
Tehya Maeva recorded her sixth-consecutive match leading the team in assists (15).

Notables

Boise State tallied the highest attended volleyball match in the state of Idaho with 2,166 fans in ExtraMile Arena.
Azlynn Tittmann put up her third double-figure match in kills for the season.
Freshman Jenelle Legates added 10 assists.
Amelia Hansen notched eight kills.
The Broncos tallied 34 kills, 33 assists, 37 digs and 10 blocks against BYU.

"BYU is a great team and we played with a little bit of stress at the early part of the match, but I'm glad to see them play their way into the third set where they gave themselves a chance to win that set," head coach Shawn Garus said. "Unfortunately, it didn't go our way, but I think we learned a lot of things. Excited for the quick turnaround and getting back to the court on Thursday. We've got three great matches with teams that are hotly contested. Hopefully we can get our fans back and keep playing in front of Bronco Nation."
