Why did you choose Boise State?
I sought out BSU because of Milt Davis, a pro football scout, my biology instructor and community college counselor. Mr. Davis told me that there was a college football coach in a little town called Boise, Idaho, who is known for maximizing an athlete’s abilities. I was preceded by my best friend Everett Carr.
How did Boise impact your life?
My first year in Boise, I pretty much hated it because it was too slow, coming from Los Angeles. My second year I said I was never going to leave, because I realized that this was real life experience. I tell people all the time that people in Boise don’t get involved in your life unless you have a problem, and then they show up with tools to fix the problem.
Do you have any special memories or moments?
The first time my wife and I were traveling to Mountain Home I had some car trouble on the freeway. As I pulled over to see what the problem was, two white families pulled over to see if we were ok.
How do you stay in contact with Boise State?
Currently I stay in contact with friends who live in the Treasure Valley. When Gary Craner was still at Boise State, I would come back periodically to exchange and share therapy techniques.
