Lexus Williams enters his fifth season as a member of the men's basketball staff and second as an assistant coach in 2025-26. He originally joined the program prior to the start of the 2021-22 campaign.

Through playing experience and gaining the trust of current student-athletes, Williams is a key contributor in player development, both on and off the court. He also has responsibilities in the area of scouting and recruiting.

From a mentorship perspective, Williams assists men’s basketball student-athletes with transitioning to college. He helps nurture a mindset that maximizes potential on and off the court and prepares them for life after sports through prioritizing academics and pursuing passions.

In his first season as an assistant, Williams helped guide the team to a 26-11 overall record. A former Bronco point guard, he aided Alvaro Cardenas to reaching 256 assists, setting the program's single-season record.

Across three seasons as assistant to the head coach from 2021-24, the Broncos won 73 games and posted a winning percentage of 69.5. The team advanced to the NCAA Tournament all three years, marking the first time that's happened in program history.

Prior to Boise State, Williams spent 18 months working as an accountant for real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle. Though successful, finding his way back to a career in basketball was always the goal.

Donning the Blue and Orange, Williams suited up for the Broncos during the 2017-18 season. He started all 32 games he appeared, and averaged 9.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 26.1 minutes per game. He earned honorable mention All-Mountain West accolades for his performance that year.

Williams’ tenure as a Bronco student-athlete left a lasting impression because of his ability to connect with everyone who touched the program. Among the many memorable moments, the most notable was his game-winning half court shot at Oregon as time expired.

His previous three years as a student-athlete were spent playing for Valparaiso in the Horizon League. He saw action in 82 games and made 44 starts.

Following his collegiate career, the Chicago native was drafted by the Texas Legends in the second round of the 2018 NBA G League Draft, beginning an 18-month stint in the professional ranks before the COVID-19 pandemic. Immediately following his playing career, Williams interned with Bronco Athletics, assisting the senior associate athletic director with daily tasks and other department leadership with various projects.

Williams earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Valparaiso in 2017, and a master’s in athletic leadership from Boise State in 2019.
