Green began his coaching career in 2012 at Sammamish High School in Bellevue, Washington. In three seasons, Green coached 18 athletes to appearances at the Washington state meet, saw four earn all-state honors, and sent the boys cross country team to state for the first time in over 20 seasons.
From 2008-11, Green competed as a sprinter and jumper at the University of the Redlands. As an athlete, Green earned 20 all-conference honors, eight NCAA national qualifying marks, and earned All-American honors in the 400m and 4x100m relay.
