Broncos Send Fourteen to NCAA First Round

INDIANAPOLIS – Eight women and the six men were selected to represent Boise State track & field in the NCAA West First Round at Arkansas, the NCAA announced Thursday. Competition will take place May 27-30 at John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville.

Participants on the women's side will be Bianca Boehnke (5000 meters), Emily Jobes (3000 meter steeplechase), Abby Kendrick (3000 meter steeplechase), Amit Koma (10,000 meters), Noelani Krauss (800 meters), Victoria Lotz (hammer throw), Kaiya Robertson (1500 meters) and Emily Stefan (long jump).

Men's qualifiers include Brian Kiprotich (10,000 meters), Chase Lawyer (110 meter hurdles), Tanner Nett (shot put), Aayden Simmons (high jump, long jump), Alex Thompson (1500 meters) and Raekwon Weatherspoon (long jump).

Robertson, Thompson and Weatherspoon each won their NCAA event at last week's Mountain West Outdoor Championships. Simmons scored 24 points at the conference meet, including personal-best marks and second-place finishes in the high jump and long jump.

Jobes (second), Kendrick (third), Lotz (third) and Kiprotich (third) are coming off podium finishes at the Mountain West Championships while Boehnke, Koma, Krauss, Stefan, Lawyer and Nett each scored points for the Broncos.
