2020-21: INDOOR- Did not compete...OUTDOOR- Opened the season at the UNLV Spring Invitational Sheila Tarr-Smith Multis (March 20), earned a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash and set a personal best in the event with a time of 49.81...ran the third leg of the winning 4x400m men's relay team...finished 10th in the 400m with a time of 50.78 at the Hayward Premiere (April 2-3)...ran the opening leg of the 4x400m relay...finished seventh in the 400m at the Oregon Relays (April 23-24)...logged a top-10 and a personal best in the 400m at the West Coast Relays (April 30) with a time of 49.09...part of the third-place 4x400m relay team...competed in the 400m and 4x400m relay at the Mountain West Championships...earned All-MW honors for finishing second as part of the 4x400m relay team.
2019-20: INDOOR- Opened the season at the Jackson’s Open (Dec. 14) finishing seventh in the 400-meter and second in the 4x400m relay…made his only appearance in the long jump at the Bronco Invite (Jan. 18) leaping a distance of 20-feet, 3.5-inches…set a personal best in the 200m at the Ed Jacoby Invitational (Jan. 24-25) with a time of 22.89…logged a personal best in the 400m at the Texas Tech Invitational (Jan 31 - Feb 1) running a time of 49.32…member of the winning 4x400m relay team at the Boise State Challenge (Feb. 14-15)…ran as part of the men’s distance medley relay which won gold at the Mountain West Indoor Championships (Feb. 27-29) earning All-MW accolades for the effort...OUTDOOR-Season canceled due to coronavirus pandemic.
2018-19: INDOOR- Redshirt season...OUTDOOR- Redshirt season.
PRIOR TO BOISE STATE
Joined the program as a walk-on in the fall of 2018...Mitchell competed primarily in the sprints and jumps during his high school career for nearby Tri-Valley High School, establishing himself as one of the most versatile small school athletes in Idaho...as a senior, he took fourth in the 400m, seventh in the high jump, and second in the triple jump, while also leading Tri-Valley to a seventh-place finish in the 4x400...was the IHSAA 1A state champion in the triple jump as a junior.
