BOISE STATE CAREER
RS FRESHMAN (2016-17): Local product finished with a 21-16 record in his debut season for the Blue and Orange . . . Was Boise State's lone starter at 165 pounds, compiling a dual record of 5-6 . . . Reached the podium in three of the five tournaments he competed in . . . Opened the season with a runner-up finish at the Cowboy Open, going 3-1 (Nov. 5) . . . Added a third place finishes at Roadrunner Open (Nov. 20) and a fifth place finish at the Reno TOC (Dec. 18) . . . Went 3-2 at the 54th Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Tournament while advancing to the second day of competition (Dec. 29-30) . . . Was third on the team with eight bonus point victories . . . Honorable Mention Pac-12 All-Academic.
FRESHMAN (2015-16): Redshirt season…went 10-5 while wrestling unattached at 157 pounds….included were three major decisions and a technical fall…captured the title at the Spokane Open (Nov. 22), going 5-0 with a major decision…finished runner-up at the Battle of the Rockies (Dec. 5), going 1-1 with a major decision before falling in the finals…went 2-2 at the Reno Tournament of Champions (Dec. 20), where he fell to the nation’s top-ranked wrestler at 157 – Illinois’ Isaiah Martinez…finished third at the Menlo Invitational (Jan. 2), going 2-1 with a technical fall (19-3)…dropped his only match at the UVU Open (Jan. 9) via injury default.
HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
Four-year letterwinner captured the 152-pound state championship as a senior at Mountain View High School while wrestling for head coach Kevin Wood...named District 3 Wrestler of the Year...finished third at the state tournament both his sophomore and junior years...posted a prep record of 149-49, including a 47-3 campaign as a senior...was 41-9 as a junior, 36-13 as a sophomore and 25-24 as a freshman...also lettered three times in football, earning first-team all-state and first-team All-Southern Idaho Conference accolades in his final season...named Academic All-SIC every year.
