2018-19: CROSS COUNTRY- Finished in the top seven at all five of the meets she competed at . . . Opened the season with a top 10 finish in ninth at the Sundodger Invitational. Was the seventh Broncos across the line in 21:03.10 (Sept. 8) . . . Placed 65th in the 6k (20:54.1) at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational as Boise State’s first non-scorer (Sept. 28) . . . Had a great day at the Mountain West Championships, placing 12th as the team’s sixth runner. Ran 21:12.5 for the first all-conference honors of her career (Oct. 26) . . . Came up one spot shy of all-region honors by placing 26th (20:22.9) at the West Region Championships as the fastest No. 6 runner of any team in the field (Nov. 9) . . . Took 175th at the NCAA National Championships, running 21:38.5 for 6k (Nov. 17) . . . Competed in both the 3000m and 5000m at the Mountain West Championships (Feb. 21-23) . . . OUTDOOR- Ran a personal best in the steeplechase at the NCAA West Preliminary Round to end her career ranked fifth on the school record book in the event (May 23-25) . . . ran 10:21.03 for the 3000m steeplechase in her outdoor debut at the Stanford Invitational (March 29-30) . . . ran a personal best of 16:36.79 for 5,000-meters at the Bryan Clay Invite (April 17-19) . . . took ninth in the steeplechase at the Mountain West Championship (May 8-11).
2017-18: CROSS COUNTRY- Strong race at the Mountain West Championships to finish 21st in 21:41.83 for 6k (Oct. 27) . . . Finish third in the “B” race of the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational as the top Bronco (Oct. 13) . . . Opened the season with a 40th-place showing at the Greater Louisville Classic in 17:23.83 for 5k (Sept. 30) . . . INDOOR- Appeared in three meets on the season, all in the 3,000m . . . Took 12th in the 3,000m in 9:53.51 at the Mountain West Championship (Feb 22. 24) . . . Posted a personal best in the 3,000 with a time of 9:49.45 at the 2018 Husky Classic (Feb. 9-10) . . . Opened the season at the UW Invitational, running 9:50.28 for 3,000m (Jan. 26-27) . . . OUTDOOR- Qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Round for the first time in her career, taking 36th in the 3,000m steeplechase in a new personal best of 10:27.24 (May 24-26) . . . Scored a point in the steeplechase at the Mountain West Championship, taking eighth in 10:34.89. Also set a new personal best of 17:47.54 in the 5,000m (May 9-12) . . . Opened the season with a third-place finish in the steeplechase at the Stanford Invitational, running 10:30.85 (March 30-31) . . . Also appeared at the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 19-20).
2016-17: CROSS COUNTRY - Was a consistent scorer for the women’s team in what was her first collegiate cross country season…logged two nice performances to open the season…started at the Sagebrush Invitational and finished in third place (17:42.61) on the 5K course…was then 30th at the Roy Griak Invitational thanks to a 22:30.1, crossing the line as the Broncos’ No. 2 scorer…took 139th at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational (21:50.2)…turned in a solid performance at the Mountain West Championships, clocking a 21:24.4 for 26th place…concluded the season by taking 56th at the NCAA West Regionals, recording a 20:52.3 for her fastest 6k time of the season...INDOOR – Ran in all three distance events in her second indoor season…took 16th place in the 5k at the conference championships after crossing the line in 17:52.43…ran a PR in the 3,000m at the Husky Classic after clocking a 9:51.41…performed well two weeks earlier back in Seattle, running a 9:54.04 in the 3k….opened the season at the Ed Jacoby Invitational and took second in the mile (5:06.37)…OUTDOOR – Scored three points at the Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a sixth-place day in the 3,000m steeplechase, running 10:56.85…logged some speed work at the Border Clash and took second in the 1,500m (4:38.87)…enjoyed a 3k steeplechase career-best time of 10:31.40 at the Mt. SAC Relays…enjoyed another solid day in the steeplechase two weeks earlier at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival, recording a 10:38.67 to take seventh place.
2015-16: CROSS COUNTRY - Redshirted...INDOOR – Ran in all three distance races (5,000m, 3,000m and mile) in her first indoor season…helped the DMR team take first (12:11.93) at the Ed Jacoby Invite…third at the Bronco Invite in the mile, running a season-best time of 5:09.12…ran her fastest 3,000m at the UW Invitational thanks to a 10:04.16…clocked a 18:38.56 in the 5,000m at the Husky Classic…finished the year at the conference championships, running a 10:38.50 for 23rd...OUTDOOR - Did not compete.
HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
Kyra Lopez comes to Boise State from Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, Ariz. She helped Desert Vista to a fifth-place finish at Nike Cross Nationals as the third scorer. Lopez won a pair of region championships in the 1,600m and the 3,200m on her way to qualifying for state in 2014. In 2015, she took seventh in the 3,200m and ninth in the 1,600m at the Arizona Track and Field State Championships.
