Boise State Set for NCAA Cross Country Championships

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State women's cross country team along with Meshack Kuyo and Alex Thompson, from the men's squad, will compete in the NCAA Cross Country Championships, Saturday.

Hosted by Missouri, and airing live on ESPNU, the NCAA Championships will be held at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia. To start the event, the women will run a 6k beginning at 8:20 a.m. MT. Kuyo and Thompson will then compete in the 10k, which commences at 9:10 a.m. MT.

NOTABLES
- Head Coach Pat McCurry is in his second season at the helm of Boise State's cross country program. He previously served as an assistant with the Broncos from 2016-18, and also was the head coach at College of Idaho and San Francisco.
- Entering the NCAA Cross Country Championships, Boise State's women's team is ranked No. 23 in the USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll.
- This is the seventh time the women have punched their ticket to the NCAA Championships.
- Boise State's women's team last qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2020. The Broncos placed ninth in a field of 31 teams.
- In the women's field, there are 28Â ranked teams.
- Thompson and Kuyo have combined for seven top-10 finishes this season. Kuyo placed in the top five three times.
- To qualify, Kuyo (29:25.6) finished fourth in NCAA Regionals, while Thompson (29:33.0) crossed the finish line in 10th.
- The last male individual to qualify for the NCAA Championships was Joe Hudson in 2024.
