Broncs to Face Tigers’ Attack; Eiden’s Squad Defends Uncrossed Home Goal Line; Game at 2 p.m.

BOISE, Idaho – Climaxing their season on the home field, the Boise Junior College Broncos will pull on the football harness this afternoon to face the toughest assignment of the year – a battle with the University of Idaho, Southern Branch.

Hunting more victory meat, Coach Felix Plastino brought his Tigers from Pocatello into town Friday afternoon, ring-mastered them through a light workout at Public School Field, and then settled down to await the victim, scheduled in the gridiron arena at 2 o'clock this afternoon.

The Tigers, bringing a record of three victories, one tie and two defeats, are favored to overpower Coach Max Eiden's Broncs. The Southern Branch defeated Albion Normal, 32 to 0, a team which upset the Boise College, and Plastino's eleven held the strongly favored College of Idaho to a 19 to 14 tally, losing the game on a late Coyote touchdown after leading through the early part of the game.

Comparative scores, however, may mean little in today's scramble. Ricks handed the Tigers their only other defeat of the season, and then the Rexburg boys came to Boise for a 6 to 0 licking by the Junior College.

The invaders today also face a team which has successfully defended its goal line on the home field all season. The Broncos are nursing a growing tradition in the fact they have not been scored on while playing at Public School Field, defeating Gooding, Ricks and the University of Idaho frosh in three games this season. On the other hand, the Boise college lost its two attempts on foreign ground.

Squad in Shape

With the exception of Shaw, star quarterback, Coach Eiden wound up preparations for a Tiger reception with his squad in fine physical trim. Dale Cantlin will probably get the call to pilot the team in action this afternoon, replacing Shaw, who is sick with the flu. Gus Urresti, the Broncs' powerful fullback, is primed for action, ready to block the paths clean on end sweeps or carry the ball himself for thrusts through the line.

Wagner Star Player

Expected to shine for the Tigers, Wagner will lead the invaders at the quarterback post. He is labeled a dangerous open field runner and can find small holes in the line. Shaw, Southern Branch tackle, is one of the outstanding players on the Tiger forward wall and particularly menacing on the defense.

Junior College students organized a rally through Boise streets Friday night and cheered their athletes with a rousing, noisy demonstration.
