Junior College Team Offers Strong Opposition, Holding Tigers to 19-6

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) – In a game more even than the score would indicate , the Idaho Southern Tigers beat Boise Junior College Broncs 19 to 6 here Saturday.

Idaho started almost an entire second team and the opening period was scoreless, but a first team drive netted two touchdowns in the second period, with the Tigers headed for another on the Boise 10-yard line as the half ended. The third period was scoreless but both teams made touchdowns in the last frame.

A pass from Hoggan to Fellis, end, gave Idaho (Southern Branch) its first score but Reynolds, rushed in from the bench, missed a dropkick for point.

At the opening of the last period Dellinger slashed off tackle and went 45 yards over the goal with two Broncs hanging on. Try for placement was low.

A poor Idaho (Southern Branch) punt out to the 30 gave the Broncs a chance against the reserves in the waning moments of play and Cantlin skirted right end six yards for a score. The placekick for point was low.

Two Idaho (Southern Branch) touchdown threats failed, one when Dellinger fumbled on the one-yard line and again when a pass over the goal was returned on a holding penalty. A 35-yard pass, Shaw to Kidd, and a 30-yard run over the goal was brought back in the second period on a Boise offside.

Idaho (Southern Branch) made 168 yards from scrimmage to 99 for Boise and 10 first downs against 11 for the Broncos.
