What’s Happening After taking the week off, the
The races, which will be run on the same course as the NCAA National Championships, are scheduled to begin Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. (EDT), with the Women’s 6k Blue race. Races will continue through the day with the Women’s 6k White race at 11:35 a.m., Men’s 8k Blue race at 12:10 p.m., Men’s 8k White race at 12:50 p.m. and the Women’s 6k/Men’s 8k Open races beginning at 1:30 p.m. and 2:05 p.m.
The Bronco men are slated to compete in the 8,000m White race, while the Bronco women will be running the 6,000m Open race.
The Teams The field includes 45 of the top 60 teams in the nation, with a record 87 teams for the women and 86 teams for the men.
On the women’s side,
The men will be without the top two teams, Wisconsin and Arkansas, but return a field that includes the top-two runners on the ISU 8k course, and team No.’s 3-5, 7-10, 13-16, 18-22 and 25-29.
Last Time Out -
Braden posted an eight-kilometer time of 23-minutes, 52.45-seconds, to record his sixth-career individual title. The All-American has finished first or second in each of his three races this season, and was named Western Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for his performance at the event.
Axtman, a first-team All-Western Athletic Conference selection in 2005, posted his third-consecutive top 15 finish and his second of the season in the top three, finishing second, 18.70 seconds behind Braden. The duo led the Bronco men to a sixth place team finish.
