Broncos In Seventh Place Through One Round of Braveheart Classic

BEAUMONT, Calif. The Boise State University men’s golf team sits tied for seventh place after registering a 320 (+32) in the first round of the Braveheart Classic hosted by UC Riverside at the Oak Valley Golf Club at Beaumont, Calif.

Leading the Boise State golfers were two freshmen, Shawn Tonkin and Robbie Richards.

Tokin currently stands tied for 17th with a 78 (+6), after registering a 39 on the front and back nine.

Richards posted a 79 (+7) to tie for 22nd in the opening round of the tournament.

The Broncos remain in seventh place tied with Kansas State and Western Athletic Conference rival, Utah State but remain just 12 strokes back of the leader and seven back of the top three, with two rounds yet to be played.

Round two of the Braveheart Classic was suspended because of darkness. The 17-team field will tee off in a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. (PT).
