Broncos Travel to California for The Goodwin

WHAT'S NEXT: Participating in its second tournament of the week, Boise State men's golf heads to Palo Alto, California for The Goodwin. Hosted by Stanford, the three-day, 54-hole event takes place at Stanford Golf Course and features 30 teams.

THE COMPETITION: Included are seven Mountain West teams, equating to over 23 percent of the field. The Broncos will compete against Colorado State, Grand Canyon, Nevada, New Mexico, San Diego State and San Jose State while also facing schools from the ACC, Big 12 and Big Ten.

COURSE LAYOUT: Located in the foothills above Stanford University, Stanford Golf Course is par-70 and 6,742 yards.

FORMAT / TEE TIMES: Playing 18 holes on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, tee times for all three days will begin at 8 a.m. MT and will be staggered in 12-minute intervals.

LAST TIME OUT: Collectively shooting an 879 (+27), the Broncos concluded the Oregon Duck (March 23-24) in eighth place. Ending the tournament one stroke behind conference foe San Jose State, the Broncos finished ahead of Iowa (Big Ten), Idaho (in-state rival) and Grand Canyon (Mountain West), and wrapped the invitational with a 7-7 record.

DT: In his fourth season at the helm, head coach David Trainor has guided the team to significant improvement year-over-year. The Broncos ranked 176th in the country in 2023-24 and were 39-99-2 overall. The following season (2024-25), Boise State improved its ranking to 108 and amassed an 88-63-3 record.

IMPROVEMENT CONTINUES: Through eight events in 2025-26, Boise State has registered a 73-43-3 mark. The Broncos, who have two team titles and two top-3 finishes, have finished under par in five of the eight tournaments.

TOP 10: In his best performance of the season, Luke Cushman carded a 215 (+2) in the Oregon Duck Invitational and tied for seventh. The performance marked his first top-10 finish of the 2025-26 campaign and fourth of his collegiate career. It was his highest finish since winning an individual title last year in the UC Santa Barbara Intercollegiate on April 7-8, 2025.

COLE RUECK: In his senior season, the Corvallis, Oregon native has placed in the top-10 six times and in the top-25 in seven team tournaments. Shooting under par in 16 of his 24 rounds and collecting two individual championships this season, Rueck is ranked No. 176 in the country and has a personal record 608-82-20, according to SCOREBOARD.
