Broncos Drop Close Meet in Hawaii

HONOLULU Despite winning eight of the 16 events and setting three new team records, the Boise State swim team dropped a close dual meet to Hawaii, 161.5-137.5, on Sunday in Honolulu, Hawaii. The loss came only one month after the Rainbow Wahine edged out the Broncos by half a point at the Husky Invitational, in which the Broncos also set a new team record for points.
"Coming away from this meet with wins in 8 events is great for us,” said head coach Kristin Hill. “We had a lot of standouts today and I'm very proud of our team.”
Both the 200 free relay and 200 medley relay shined for
“We expected to win the 200 medley relay, but winning the 200 free relay was a big accomplishment and it says a lot about the character of our team,” said Hill. “Both teams have been putting in a lot of hard work, so the wins were well-deserved no matter who touched the wall first.”
North broke the only individual record in the 200 free with a time of 1:53.08, which also earned her a victory in the event. She also took home a first-place finish in the 100 free. Boucher also brought in a pair of first-place finishes in the 100 fly and 50 free
Katelyn Lofland, Irvin and Lopus each earned victories in their individual events to round out the first-place finishes for the Broncos. Lofland touched first in the 1000 free as did Irvin in the 100 breast and Lopus in the 200 IM.
