Freestyle Middle Distances
In the middle distances of the freestyle event, Amber Boucher and Stephanie North are once again at the top of the 200. Madison Gray, from Winnemucca, Nev., will make an immediate impact in the 200 and chase the school record Boucher set at the WAC Championships last season. Jennifer Cahill returns after a freshman season in which she lowered the school record time in the 500 free four times, and also set new standards for herself in the 200 freestyle. Cahill, a native of Wailuku, Hawaii, will be challenged in the 500 by three newcomers as well as returners Denise Green and Emily Irvin. Green, a senior from North Bend, Ore., finished fifth last year in the 500 freestyle at the WAC Championships. Irvin, a Bakersfield, Calif., native, provides the Broncos with versatility, and is a strong option in the 500 freestyle.
