LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Boise State swimming and diving signee Ciera Cortney won her fourth Nevada state title on Saturday, May 22, in the 1-meter diving event. Cortney recorded a score of 488.10 to run away with the title, completing a clean sweep of state titles in her high school career.

"This is a great accomplishment for Ciera! It is a testament to her love of the sport and competitive spirit," said diving coach David Legler. "She will be a great addition to the team and I look forward to having the opportunity to begin working with her in the fall."

Cortney's score of 488.10 was just shy of the state record that she set as a sophomore in 2008. Cortney won that state title with a score of 488.55.

The Bishop Gorman girls swimming and diving team captured the state title as well behind Cortney's solid performance. The Gaels edged Green Valley High School by a score of 82-80 to send out the senior diver on a high note.

Cortney will join the WAC champion Bronco swimming and diving team next fall with her eyes fixed on helping the Broncos repeat as WAC champions.
