COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-Boise State senior Stephanie North was named Mountain West Swimmer of the Week, for competition from Sept. 23-Oct. 8, the conference announced, Thursday. It is North's fifth-career weekly conference award, the first for a Bronco in the Mountain West.

North led the Broncos to their fourth-straight win against in-state rival Idaho in dominant fashion. She won three individual events and added a relay title as the anchor of the 400-yard freestyle team. The relay team won by nearly five seconds, but North was more dominant in her individual events.

She clocked times in the 50- and 200-yard freestyles that would have scored at 2011 MW Championships. Her mark in the 50 stands as the fastest in the conference this season. Her 100-yard freestyle time is the second-fastest in the MW this, behind only teammate Amber Boucher's relay leadoff leg. North won each the 100 and 200 by more than a second.

North and the Broncos are back in action Friday and Saturday, against New Mexico and Seattle, at the Boise-West Family YMCA. The meet begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m. Saturday.
