Final Stats

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Anthony Drmic had 25 points and 10 rebounds and Derrick Marks scored 18 points as Boise State defeated Oakland 88-80 Tuesday night, at Taco Bell Arena.

Jeff Elorriaga scored a career-best 17 points and Igor Hadziomerovic added 15 for the Broncos (2-0), who thwarted a second-half charge by the Golden Grizzlies. It is the first time in nearly four years four Broncos scored at least 15 points, including a 20-point performer.

Drmic topped the 20-point plateau for the fourth time in his career, and finished one point shy of his personal high. The sophomore led the Broncos on the glass for his second double-double in a Boise State uniform.

Duke Mondy scored 21 points and Corey Petros had 17 points and 12 rebounds for Oakland (1-2).

Elorriaga hit three 3-pointers over the first six-plus minutes of the second half as Boise State used a 19-4 surge to open a 59-44 lead. The junior finished with four makes from beyond the arc on the offensive end. Defensively he held Oakland's leading scorer, Travis Bader, to 1-of-8 from 3-point range. Bader, a career 41.7-percent shooter from deep, had made multiple 3-pointers in 19-consecutive games dating back to last season.

The Broncos still led by 14 with 9:30 to play before the Golden Grizzlies rolled off nine-consecutive points to pull within 69-64 on a 3-pointer by Mondy with 7:51 remaining.

Marks responded with a pair of driving baskets as Boise State reeled off six-straight points to push the lead back to 11. Boise State converted 7-of-8 free throws in the final 46 seconds to seal the victory.
