Broncos Win Exhibition Game, 75-55

BOISE – The Boise State men’s basketball team defeated Saint Martin’s 75-55 at Taco Bell Arena Friday, in the team’s only exhibition game of the 2012-13 season.

Sophomore guard Igor Hadziomerovic was one of four starters to score in double figures, pitching in a game-high 17 points.

Boise State led wire-to-wire, building as much as a 25-point lead with 18-minutes, 53-seconds remaining in the second half before cruising to victory.

The Broncos scored 48 of their points in the paint, compared to just 10 for the Saints, and scored 31 points off of 21 Saint Martin’s turnovers. Boise State recorded 16 steals on the game, including six from junior guard Jeff Elorriaga and five from sophomore guard Derrick Marks.

Junior forward Ryan Watkins scored 14 points and pulled down a game-high nine rebounds, while Marks scored 14 points – including an 8-for-8 performance at the free throw line – and added six assists.

Sophomore guard/forward Anthony Drmic added 12 points.

Boise State opens its regular season with three-straight home games, squaring off against Texas Southern (Nov. 11), Oakland (Nov. 13) and Louisiana-Lafayette (Nov. 18).
