WACO, Texas - Andy Bettles straight set victory on court one in singles handed 47th-ranked Boise State a 4-1 victory over No. 32 Drake in a men's tennis match at Waco, Texas. Boise State won the doubles point and the first two singles matches completed before 54th-ranked Bettles' match clinching victory to improve the Broncos to 2-2 overall.
Toby Mitchell and Nathan Sereke started the ball rolling when they defeated Drake's No. 3 doubles team of Matt Frost and Ben Mullis 6-2. The Broncos clinched the doubles point with a win on court two by Andy Bettles and Thomas Tenreiro by a 6-3 score over Alen Salibasic and Ben Lott.
Singles opened with Sereke defeating Ben Lott in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 on court two to extend the match score to 2-0 Broncos. Boise State's lead was cut by one when Drake's Mullis downed Boise State's Mitchell 6-4, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
McClain regained the Broncos two-point lead at 3-1 with a sweep of Ravi Patel at the five position by scores of 6-1, 6-4. That setup Bettles' match clincher on court one over Alen Salibasic 6-5 (8) and 6-3.
