BOISE, Idaho - Unlike 2013 and 2014 Senior Days at Dona Larsen Park, there would be no walk-off home run or late-inning heroics for Boise State in 2015 as the Broncos fell, 3-2 in eight innings, to Utah State in Sunday's season finale.

Boise State finished the season 12-42 overall and 4-20 in Mountain West play, and bid adieu to seniors Devon Bridges, Jordan Kreiger, Lindsey Nicholson and Hailey Torrez.

The seniors did all they could Sunday, with Nicholson going 2-for-4 including a game-tying RBI single in the sixth, Kreiger going 1-for-3 and Torrez driving in a run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth, but it was not enough as the Broncos left 10 runners on base in the loss.

Utah State (19-36, 11-13 MW), which finished the sweep of the Broncos with the win, got its eighth-inning runs on a two-out, two-run single by Hailey Froton, who was the only Aggie with more than one hit Sunday, going 2-for-5.

The single spoiled a good outing from Bronco starter Nicole Wilson, who finishes the year 3-12 despite giving up just three runs (one earned) on five hits over eight innings.

The Aggies took a 1-0 lead in the third on a bases-loaded, RBI single from Alleyah Armendariz that scored Froton. But Wilson recovered and stranded the three baserunners as she got Paxton Provost to line to third and Nicole Arata to fly out to right.

Utah State starter Noelle Johnson, who brought her record even at 16-16 by giving up just two runs on nine hits, cruised through the Bronco lineup early before running into trouble in the sixth. There, Kayla Clausen, who went 2-for-4 for Boise State, led off the frame with a single and was bunted to second by Bridges. Izzy Serrano walked to put two on, and after pinch-hitter Corey Hendrickson struck out, Nicholson came through with a line drive off the glove of Johnson that scored Clausen from second.

In the bottom of the eighth, trailing 3-1 with one on, Sara Ketelsleger singled to left with one out. Pinch-runner Shaelee Pearson got to third as Lindsey Nicholson hit a shot up the middle and didn't stop around first, catching the Aggie defense on auto-pilot and legging out a double.

After Torrez' sacrifice fly scored Pearson, Makenzie Sullivan grounded back to Johnson for the final out.
