No. 9 Gymnastics Team Looks for Two More Wins Friday

MEET INFO
The No. 9 Bronco Gymnastics team will travel to San Jose, Calif. for a tri-meet at San Jose State (5-4) with UC Davis (5-4), the first of four back-to-back away meets. The meet will take place at 8 p.m. MT at The Event Center in San Jose, Calif.

LAST TIME OUT
Last Friday, the Blue and Orange remained undefeated to take down Southern Utah at Taco Bell Arena with the highest score of the season so far. The team swept the individual titles.
Sarah Means, for the third week in a row, was crowned vault champion with a 9.900, while freshman Hope Masiado finished with a 9.800 in her third collegiate meet.
Courtney McGregor took home the bars title with a 9.900 and freshman Alexis Stokes followed closely behind with a 9.875. Shani Remme continued her dominance in competition and earned the individual titles on beam with a 9.900, floor with a 9.925, and the all-around at 39.500.  McGregor placed second in the all-around with a cumulative score of 39.325.

SERIES HISTORY
Boise State leads the all-time series against both San Jose State (32-6) and UC Davis (21-1). The Broncos and Spartans faced each other on Jan. 13, 2019 for the season-opener, but haven't seen the Aggies since the 2017 season (Jan. 13). The Blue and Orange have won four straight vs San Jose State and eight straight against UC Davis.

CONFERENCE HONORS
Boise State swept conference honors for week three of the gymnastics season, as announced by the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Sunday night. Remme captured three MRGC awards, named Gymnast of the Week for the second time in three weeks with a 39.500 in the all-around. For the third-straight week, Remme was also named co-Beam Specialist of the Week after she scored a 9.900 on the apparatus. Finally, she garnered Floor Specialist of the Week with her 9.925.Courtney McGregor, after her 9.900 on bars, was named co-Bars Specialist of the Week, her second honor in three weeks. Sarah Means earned her second-straight Vault Specialist of the Week honor and has placed first in vault in the last three contests, scoring a 9.900 vs. Southern Utah Friday.

IN THE RANKINGS
The Broncos moved up a spot to No. 9 with an average score of 196.142. They are the highest-ranked team in their conference, and second-highest in the West Region, behind only No. 3 UCLA.

WINNER'S MENTALITY
A Boise State gymnast has taken home an event title in 12 out of 13 events so far this season.

REMME'S RECORDS
Shani Remme has yet to lose in 2019 on beam and floor.
This season, she became the winningest beam worker in program history with 20 wins on beam in her career. Remme also holds the second-most all-around season wins at 8.
On Jan. 13, Remme recorded a 9.950 on beam, tying for the third-best beam score in program history.
With 11 wins on floor so far, Remme holds the fifth-most floor victories in program history.
This season, she looks to shatter the program record for career wins in the All-Around. A win this week would top the record of 18 set by Julie Wagner in 1995.
