Broncos Grab Pair of Top 15’s at Nuttycombe

MADISON, WIS. - The Boise State cross country teams finished as the top Mountain West teams at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, Friday.
The Bronco women ran their way to a fourth top-10 finish in the last five years closing seventh with 282 points. The top finisher for the Broncos was senior Clare O'Brien who finished with a time of 20:38.0. Following her, Maxine Paholek closed at 20:42.7.
Rounding out the women's scorers were Olivia Johnson (20:47.0), Yukino Parle (20:48.6) and Kristie Schoffield (21:15.8).
The Bronco men finished 12th with 369 points. This marks the fourth time in the last five years the men have finished the Nuttycombe Invitational in the top 15.
For the second-straight meet, junior Ahmed Muhumed paced the Broncos with a new personal-best time of 24:00.3. Joining him in the top 50 was senior Miler Haller who ran a 24:06.3.
Closing out the men's scorers were Logan Rees (24:17.9), Elijah Armstrong (24:37.6) and Jonathan Shields (25:03.2).
Next up, a contingent of the Bronco women are slated to run at the NCAA Pre-Nationals, Saturday, Oct. 19, in Terre Haute, Ind.
