ABOUT SAN DIEGO STATE: The Aztecs are in their 13th season under head coach Mike Friesen. SDSU has compiled a .606 winning percentage during that time including nine Mountain West titles and five NCAA tournament appearances.Â
ABOUT NEW MEXICO: Led by fifth-year head coach Heather Dyche, the Lobos have recorded 10-win seasons in three of the last four. Last season New Mexico tied for a program best seven MW wins.
SHUT IT DOWN: Sophomore keeper Sydney Smith has now recorded eight clean sheets through 13 games, while only allowing seven goals against the remaining opponents. She recorded a career-high nine saves in the double-overtime loss to Utah, Sept. 8. Her eight shutouts are currently tied for 19th best in the NCAA this season.
RECORD WATCH: Senior Raimee Sherle, who sits as the school and conference record holder for points and goals, has moved into a tie for second on the Boise State all-time assist list with 14. She is eight shy of the record set by Shannon Saxton at 22.
Senior McKenna Kynett made big moves in the Boise State record book. Her assist to Aubree Chatterton, Sunday Oct. 6, moved Kynett into the top five for points with 42. She also stands tied for seventh in goals with 16.
Fellow senior Kristina Serres moved into a tie for sixth in the Boise State assist leaders, after a cross to Raimee Sherle against San Jose State, Oct. 3.
HIGH SCORING OFFENSE: In the Jim Thomas era the Broncos are 55-1-3 when recording two goals or more in a match.
