ABOUT THE TIGERS: Pacific is 5-2 on the season and allowing just 57.7 points per game - the best mark in the West Coast Conference and No. 29 in the country. The Tigers also rank top-15 nationally in rebound margin (+12.4) and free throw attempts (137).

SERIES HISTORY: Boise State beat Pacific 83-71 in Boise last December, the first meeting between the programs since 2001, when both were in the Big West Conference. The Tigers lead the all-time series 8-2, including a 3-0 record in Stockton.

IN THE ARCHIVES: Saturday will mark Boise State's fourth all-time game at Pacific, two of which came  as Big West Conference opponents, including a memorable trip to the Spanos Center Feb. 26, 1998. The game featured two eventual NBA Draft Picks in Boise State's Roberto Bergersen (1999 NBA Draft, 52nd overall) and Pacific's Michael Olowokandi (1998 NBA Draft, 1st overall). Bergersen finished with 24 points, including 12 in the first half as Boise State led at the break. But Olowokandi responded with 24 of his career-high 35 points after halftime to lead the Tigers to a come-from-behind win.

HOT START: Redshirt junior Derrick Alston, Jr. is averaging 25.3 points per game through the first four games of the year, the top mark in the Mountain West and No. 6 nationally. Alston has scored at least 22 points in each of Boise State's first four games. He is the first Bronco in program history to score at least 20 points in each of the first four games of a season He is the only Division I player to score at least 22 points in each of his team's games this season through at least four games.

FREEBIES: Redshirt junior guard Derrick Alston leads the country with 34 made free throws this season. Alston ranks first in the Mountain West and third nationally with 39 free throw attempts. He is shooting 87.2 percent from the line, good for fifth in the league, and is 21-for-22 in the last two games.

UNIQUE EFFICIENCY: Senior forward RJ Williams ranks fifth nationally with a .735 field goal percentage. Williams' 16.5 points per game are coming in 23.6 minutes per game, a rate of 28 points per 40 minutes played.

OVERTIME HEROICS: Senior guard Justinian Jessup stepped up in overtime to deliver Boise State a crucial 72-68 win over BYU, Wednesday. Jessup scored seven of his nine points in the extra period. His only three-pointer of the game put the Broncos on top 65-64 with 2:26 to go, a lead they would not relinquish.

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK:  Boise State is committing 11 turnovers per game, the fewest in the Mountain West this season. Its +3.8 turnover margin is also the top mark in the league. Last season the Broncos led the Mountain West in fewest turnovers committed during conference play.
