Big Day for Erlam and Bose at Air Force Diving Invitational

Erlam wins 3-meter springboard by 80.9 points with 625.75 on 12 dives, Bose places fourth.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State freshman Marti Erlam had a big day Friday to lead the Bronco divers at the Air Force Diving Invitational by winning the 3-meter springboard. Erlam finished the day winning the title based on a combined score of both the prelims and finals scoring a 625.75. The 3-meter was the lone event on Friday for the women at the two-day invitational which wraps up Saturday with the platform dive, the 1-meter springboard is not being ran at this meet.Â
Erlam — a freshman from Calgary, Alberta, Canada — was dominating Friday winning the overall title featuring 33 competitors by 80.9 points over second-place Emma Ruchala of Utah who finished with a 544.85.Â
Erlam opened the day placing first in the preliminary round with a impressive 302.05, her fourth dive this year on the 3-meter with 300 or more points and 18th-ranked 3-meter dive in the Mountain West this season. Erlam capped the day off by scoring her second-best score this season during the final round tallying a 323.65, which won the round, ranks as the fourth-best score in the MW this year and is the fifth-highest score on the 3-meter springboard in school history.Â
Senior Cassidy Bose also had a solid outing placing fourth overall scoring a combined score of 536.25. Bose turned in a 266.85 during the prelims to finish fifth, then scored a 269.85 in the final round to move into fourth place overall.Â
Tatum Thompkins scored her third-best career score on the 3-meter turning in a 232.65, good for 18th in the prelims.Â
