Broncos Fall to Washington in Title Match of Pacific Northwest Invitational

VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Boise State beach volleyball team came up on the short end of a 4-1 score to Washington on Sunday in the championship match of the Pacific Northwest Invitational at Vancouver, Wash. Kenna Hanses and Maya Watkins collected the lone victory for the Broncos while Sabryn Roberts and Morgan Hughes, as well as Jensen Allen and Kiley Lewis went to three sets before falling.Â
Boise State finished the weekend 2-1 to improve to 4-2 overall with a trip to Honolulu on the slate this coming weekend.Â
Hanses and Watkins earned their third victory of the year out of four matches at No. 5 pair. They recorded the Blue and Orange its lone point defeating the Huskies' duo of Emma Calle and Lauren Sanders in straight sets 21-16, 21-18.Â
Janell Walley and Kendra Bodine (5-1) suffered their first loss of the season 21-17, 21-17 playing at No. 1. Meanwhile, Roberts and Hughes (3-3) battled hard before falling in three 12-21, 21-7, 15-10 on court two. Allen and Lewis (2-1) also went to three sets playing at No. 4 pair where they were defeated 16-21, 23-21, 15-11.Â
