
Hogg and Vitort Make Finals on Day Two of CSCAA

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Boise State sophomore Molly Hogg and freshman Lauren Vitort both qualified for the Friday night finals to lead Boise State on day two of the CSCAA National Invitational Championship at Cleveland.
Hogg swam a 55.08 in the final of the 100-yard backstroke to place eighth overall. She qualified for the final by recording a 54.77 in the prelims during the morning session which was good for fifth.
Vitort continued a solid freshman season by clocking a 1:49.14 to take seventh in the final of the 200-yard freestyle. She improved three positions from her prelim placement of 10th-place after turning in a time of 1:49.80.
Joining Hogg and Vitort in the finals Friday night were Madesyn Ronquillio, Katie McCoy and Lauren Sale, all three advanced in the 100 backstroke.
Ronquillio followed Hogg in the 100 back placing 13th overall during the finals swimming a 55.48 during the final. She swam a career-best 55.40 during the prelim races which was good for 11th.
McCoy placed 14th overall after turning in a 55.50 in the 100 back B final. Her final time just beat what she recorded in the prelims of 55.62 which was good for 16th in the morning session.
Sale clocked a 56.00 in the B final of the 100 back to place 20th. Her time just beat her qualifying time of 56.19 she swam during the morning prelims.
Boise State's 800-yard freestyle relay team of Hayley Hill, Vitort, Sale and McCoy turned in a 7:30.00 to place fourth in their heat and 13th overall.
Boise State will conclude the 2019 CSCAA National Invitational Championship Saturday. The Broncos are currently in ninth place out of 44 teams with 186 points.
