Broncos fall to Cowgirls 4-2

The Boise State women's tennis team fell to Wyoming 4-2 in the final home match of the season Sunday afternoon.
BOISE, Idaho (4/14/19) – Lilian Poling and Wiktoria Nosek both collected singles victories, but the Boise State women's tennis team ultimately fell at the hands of Mountain West opponent Wyoming 4-2 in the final home match of the season.
The Cowgirls came out with an aggressive attack in doubles, taking the matches on courts one and two to walk away with the doubles point and the 1-0 lead.
In singles play, Poling continued to do what she has all season; dominate. She took care of business on at the No. 2 slot by defeating Elisa Koonik 6-2, 6-4 and got the Broncos back into the match by evening the score 1-1. Poling finished an outstanding home campaign this season, finishing with an 8-1 record in matches played in Boise.
Wyoming was able to retaliate and build a 3-1 lead after winning on courts six and four to move within one win of clinching the match.
Nosek, however, would not let the match go down without a fight. She put on an electrifying performance to defeat Ana Fernandez 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 5 position to keep the Broncos alive and bring the score to 3-2.
With the match on the line, the Cowgirls were able to secure a tight, three-set win on court three to clinch the match and put an end to a spectacular home season for the Broncos. Boise State finished with a 7-3 home record that included four sweeps.
Up next the Blue and Orange will head to Logan, Utah, on April, 20, for the final MW regular-season match of the season against Utah State.
