The Boise State women's tennis team fell to Utah State 6-1 in the final regular season match on Saturday in Logan.

LOGAN, Utah (4/20/19) -- The Boise State women's tennis team was defeated 6-1 by Utah State in the final regular season match of the year Saturday morning in Logan.

The doubles competition came down to the wire after Wilhelmina Palmer and Vanessa Timm won 6-4 on court two to force an all-deciding match on court one. The Aggies were able to edge Wiktoria Nosek and Emily Strande in a 7-6(5) match to take the doubles point and the 1-0 advantage into singles play.

While the Aggies went on to win the first five singles matches and clinch the win, Strande took a big step in her young collegiate career. The freshman was called upon to fill in for junior-star Lilian Poling at the No. 2 position for the Broncos and proved she was up to the challenge by winning the match 7-6(5), 6-2 to prevent an Aggie sweep.

The Broncos will now turn their attention toward next week's Mountain West Championship in San Diego, Calif. The Blue and Orange will play on Wednesday, April 24, but their opponent and start time has yet to be determined.
