The Boise State women's tennis team heads to San Diego, Calif., for the Mountain West Conference Championship this week on the San Diego State campus. The Broncos will face the seventh-seeded Utah State Aggies at 11 a.m. (MT) on Wednesday, the winner will advance to face second-seeded Air Force at 3 p.m. (MT) on Thursday in the quarterfinal round.BRONCOS IN THE MOUNTAIN WEST TOURNAMENT
The Broncos are looking for their second win the Mountain West Women's Tennis Tournament this week. They are 1-6 all-time in the Mountain West Tournament, including a split at last year's tournament in Boise where they defeated Colorado State 4-3, then fell to San Jose State 4-3 in the quarterfinals.WHAT'S THE SCOOP
The Broncos are looking to avenge a 6-1 loss to Utah State last Saturday in Logan. The MW series is now at 3-3 all-time against the Aggies.LEADING THE BRONCOS
Wilhelmina Palmer and Lilian Poling have been phenomenal for the Blue and Orange this season. With a 24-10 overall singles record on the year, junior Poling leads the team in singles victories and has been especially dangerous in spring duals, where she is a team-best 13-4. Sophomore Palmer is not too far behind either with a 22-10 overall record, including a 9-6 spring campaign as she has taken her game to another level in her second year with the Broncos. The two have also combined to lead the way in doubles play where they are 20-8 on the year and 12-4 in spring duals.HEAD COACH BECK ROGHAAR
With a career record of 106-91 and six winning seasons, Roghaar has made his mark on Boise State in his ninth season with the program. He became the second coach in program history to reach 100 wins on January 19, 2019 after a 6-1 win against Idaho State. Last season he coached the team to a 14-8 record and the Mountain West Mountain Division regular-season title after going 5-0 against divisional opponents. The 2011 WAC Coach of the Year continues to build a rising Boise State program that has been built on the values of toughness and passion.Players Mentioned
