BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State men's basketball team announced the signing of transfer Mladen Armus, Saturday. Armus comes to Boise State after two years at East Tennessee State. Having just completed his sophomore season, he will sit out 2019-20 and have two remaining seasons of eligibility with the Broncos.

"We're thrilled to add Mladen to our team," head coach Leon Rice said on the signing. "He comes from a great program that we have a ton of respect for. He is an extremely driven, tough individual who has high character and an exceptional work ethic. That coupled with a redshirt year bodes well for his future as a Bronco. He's a relentless rebounder who also has the ability to score. Our entire staff is so excited to be able to work with him the next few years."

A 6-foot-10, 240-pound forward originally from Belgrade, Serbia, Armus was a member of the All-SoCon Freshman Team in 2017-18, as voted on by the Southern Conference's coaches. He averaged 6.3 points and 5.5 rebounds a game in his first year as a Buccaneer, helping ETSU to a 25-9 record and a 14-4 mark in league play.

His production took a jump in 2018-19, as he started 24 of the 33 games he played in and averaged 8.0 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks a game. He finished the season leading the Buccaneers in blocks while the rebound average put him second on the team.

Armus tallied double-digit points in 10 games as a sophomore, including a career-high 21 points at Western Carolina (Jan. 26, 2019). He also went for 17 points against Sam Houston State (Nov. 20, 2018) and recorded 15 points on two occasions in 2018-19.

His top rebounding game came against Samford on Jan. 3, 2019, as he pulled in 17. He grabbed 10 or more rebounds in seven games last season, and notched four double-doubles in the process.
ETSU also had another 20-win season with Armus in the starting lineup in 2018-19, as the team went 24-10 and earned an invitation to the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT).

Armus played his prep basketball at Southwest Christian Academy in Little Rock, Ark., where he averaged 16.3 points and 12.8 rebounds while shooting 60 percent from the field in his final season.
He led Southwest Christian Academy to a 36-3 record en route to claiming the NACA National Championship as a senior. He was also named a NACA First-Team All-American and was the MVP of the NACA National Tournament.

Prior to coming to the United States, Armus helped guide Serbia to a Bronze medal in the 2014 U17 World Championship in Dubai.
